4 months old!

Even though I am a little late in posting, my little Ella Kate is now 4 months old. Time is definitely flying by!

Our little punkin (or insert other nicknames of your choice...punky (derived from punkin), Ella Bella, munchkin, baby girl, sweet girl, sugar bear) is doing new things daily! We are entering the FUN ZONE where smiles are abundant and squeals are getting longer and louder by the day! She wants to grab anything and everything she sees and most of the time gets what she is after. Most things are starting to head to her mouth which makes me think that teeth are on the way. She loves to play on a quilt in the floor, and we are always practicing rolling over. She hasn't done it by herself yet, but I can feel it coming any day now! We can now sit her up in her highchair and give her things to play with on the tray to keep her occupied while we eat...definitely a favorite of ours. I must say, it is much easier to eat dinner while not holding her in your lap...but I would do it everyday, every meal, if that's what would make her happy. Spoiled much?

Speaking of spoiled...take a look at how she has the reins tight on this daddy of hers...

And speaking of daddy...he loves to nibble on her ears, her cheeks, her belly...anything that makes her laugh! Also, she loves to "fly" around the room like Super(Wo)Man and Daddy is just the person to do it!

At her 4 month doctor appointment, she weighed 15 pounds and 13 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches long. Her weight has actually slowed down a little bit (probably due to the fact that we quit feeding her so much), and she is now satisfied with her feedings.

As most of the young kids I know, she loves to be naked! Whenever she is getting fussy and we can't really figure out why, we just change her diaper and get her naked and she starts "talking" and squealing. We are hoping this trend doesn't continue as she gets older...the "I get really happy when I'm naked"trend! Bath time is getting quite fun now because she loves to kick her legs in the water and get a little tidal wave going. But watch out...the mood can change just as quick as the water splashes. When she is done with the bath, she is done right then!

For the most part, she is turning out to be a really happy baby! She is content to sit in people's arms and smile at them or play and look at their hands and her hands (those are still amazing little features she has...according to her). Her teachers at daycare always say that she is such a happy and sweet baby and whenever we are there with her, she is constantly smiling. That always make me feel good that she loves that place!

Routines have definitely shaped up for our household and her time at school. Her naps are starting to get to be around the same time everyday and she has been sleeping through the night without problems for the last 3 weeks. (knock on wood...anytime I brag on her, she is up that night)! Here's to hoping that teething won't mess that up!

Everyday I look at her, I am reminded what a blessing and a miracle she is to us! Here are a few more pictures from the month...
