5 Months Old!

My smallest sweetie pie is now 5 months old! We went to the doctor this morning to get her 4 month shots (since she has had an ear infection for the last 4 weeks, we are just now able to get them), and she weighed a whopping 18 pounds!!! She has already passed Ella's weight at this age, and I have a feeling that she will just keep on going.

We just recently took Virginia out of the daycare she was in and put her with a woman that keeps a few kids at her home. We were not very happy with where she was and since she can get in to Ella's daycare in August, we went ahead and made a temporary switch. We are very pleased with this change! Her babysitter says that she is such a good baby and definitely likes to eat!!

V is getting very active now and when you put her in the floor, she never remains in one spot for too long. Her main form of transportation is rolling, but I think her army crawl is going to surface any day now. She wants to move towards objects so bad and is trying so hard, like it is her job! I have named her "my little contortionist" from the picture above because on that particular day, she moved her body in so many different directions just to get to that one toy. She was determined!!

Virginia is wearing mainly 6 month size clothing and still in size 2 diapers. Of course, we just got a new shipment of diapers from amazon.com last week of size 2's, but I'm afraid we might have to bump up to size 3 soon. Hopefully she can wear the majority of that box!

Where did the pink dog go?

Here's the culprit!!

Just this week, we started feeding "Ginia" (as Ella has started saying) rice cereal. At first, she didn't understand the concept...like, "what is that? that's not one of my chew toys".

Then she tried it out and was not too pleased with the taste (who would be??).

And then because I was pointing the camera at her, she decided that it would be great and that she loved it! Day 3 was last night and she is taking it like a champ now. Most of it ends up on her chin, but at least we are getting the practice in before the real foods come next month. I'm pretty sure she would have tried out our lasagna that we had last night, but there was no way that rolling was going to get her to it, so she settled for cereal and a bottle.

Here is the sweet baby on Independence Day! Although we didn't buy fireworks for this holiday, she made a little explosion on her own...therefore this is just a picture of her bib and not her cute July 4th outfit!
